My background
I'm Duncan Ure, one of three Directors at Compass Estates, and I live in Castle Douglas with my family. I've been working in property across Scotland for over a decade, across most parts of the industry: residential auction sales, investment portfolios, high street branch management and, eventually, building my own operation.
I've seen how the industry works from the inside, including the parts that don't serve sellers well. Missed calls. Valuations that take twenty minutes. Marketing that amounts to a handful of phone photographs and a portal listing. Sellers who went weeks without a meaningful update. That experience is the reason I work the way I do now.
What I find genuinely interesting about Dumfries & Galloway is how varied the property stock is. Stone-built town houses, working farms, coastal cottages, rural steadings, Victorian villas, modern family homes. No two instructions are the same. And the communities here are close-knit in a way that matters when you're selling a home, not just a property. People know their neighbours. Local knowledge is not a marketing line here; it's actually useful.

How I work
One named contact, start to finish
Every valuation is in person, at your property. Every instruction I take, I see through personally from the first conversation to completion day. There is no handover to a junior or a different member of the team halfway through.
That means I'm at the valuation, I brief the photographer, I handle viewing enquiries, I present every offer and I'm on the phone when missives are being concluded. You deal with the same person throughout.
I'm available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Saturday mornings. Viewings and valuations can be arranged for evenings by prior arrangement. If I'm with a client when you call, I'll call you back the same day. You won't be chasing.
